2026 is shaping up to be a massive year for film fans, with a string of much-hyped releases on the horizon. From superhero epics to long-awaited sequels, these upcoming blockbusters are tipped to rake in billions. Dive in to see which titles are set to dominate the big screen.

For those itching to get back into the cinema, 2026 is looking like a cracker. Not only is there a fourth outing for everyone’s favourite web-slinger, but the fifth chapter in the Avengers saga is also on the cards. Steven Spielberg, the bloke behind Indiana Jones, is making a return to the director’s chair, which has locals buzzing.

After a few sluggish years at the box office, punters are keen for a turnaround. Here’s a rundown of ten films tipped to rake in over $10 billion combined, each with the potential to shake up the industry.

Fresh Adventures and Familiar Faces

The Mandalorian & Grogu is set to hit screens on 22 May, aiming to outdo the $392 million haul of Solo: A Star Wars Story. With the Star Wars name behind it, expectations are sky-high, though it’s all still up in the air until opening weekend.

Spielberg’s next project, still shrouded in mystery, is rumoured to be a sci-fi flick about UFOs. With Emily Blunt and Colman Domingo on board, fans are guessing it’ll pull in somewhere between $450 million and $550 million when it lands on 12 June.

The Devil Wears Prada 2, bringing back Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt, has already dropped a teaser. The sequel is tipped to earn around $600 million when it arrives on 1 May.

Epic Sagas and Animated Hits

Dune: Part Three, also known as Dune Messiah, is set for 18 December. Denis Villeneuve isn’t slowing down, and with Robert Pattinson joining the cast, the film is expected to clear $675 million, possibly more if the hype holds up.

Moana’s live-action version, featuring Dwayne Johnson as Maui, is due on 10 July. The original animated film pulled in over $643 million, and this new take is projected to reach at least $800 million, especially with the strong response to recent Disney remakes.

Toy Story 5, dropping on 19 June, is banking on nostalgia. While some reckon the franchise could have wrapped up, there’s still a crowd keen for more. Early predictions put its global earnings at over $950 million.

Blockbuster Showdowns and Superhero Spectacles

Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, starring Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, and a star-studded cast, is set for 17 July. With all the buzz, it’s expected to cross the $1 billion mark, especially with Nolan at the helm.

Super Mario Galaxy Movie, following the massive success of its predecessor, is set to launch on 3 April. The last film made $1.36 billion, and with new characters joining the fun, this one’s likely to go even higher.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day, with Tom Holland returning and joined by Mark Ruffalo and Jon Bernthal, is due on 31 July. Industry chatter suggests it could bring in at least $1.258 billion, especially if it teases the next Avengers event.

Finally, Avengers: Doomsday is the big one, set for 18 December. With Robert Downey Jr. back in the mix, plus the X-Men and Fantastic Four, expectations are for a box office take well over $2 billion. The ensemble cast and long wait between instalments have fans counting down the days.
