Marvel fans are in for a shake-up as Blade’s solo film is reportedly scrapped, with the character set to join a new supernatural team. Find out which hero could become Moon Knight’s next big rival.

Those who’ve been hanging out for Mahershala Ali’s take on Blade might need to put their hopes on ice. Word from industry insider Jeff Sneider, shared on The Hot Mic podcast, is that the much-hyped film has been canned. Instead, Blade’s set to pop up in a different project, joining the Midnight Sons in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

If this tip-off holds water, it could mean a fresh batch of supernatural characters are about to make their mark in the MCU. There’s also talk of Black Knight making a comeback, possibly as a thorn in Moon Knight’s side for the show’s second season.

Midnight Sons: What’s Next After Blade’s Exit?

At this stage, with Blade’s cancellation still unconfirmed, there’s not a heap of solid info about the Midnight Sons project. Earlier on, Marvel Studios was said to be working on the supernatural side of things alongside Ali’s film, but that plan was put on hold for a while.

Once development reportedly kicked off again, Daniel Richtman claimed Ghost Rider would step up as the group’s leader—a spot many thought Blade would fill. Since then, updates have been thin on the ground, especially after Marvel’s recent creative shake-ups.

Still, if you look closely, there are a few hints in the MCU pointing to this supernatural crew coming together. Projects like Werewolf by Night, Agatha All Along, and Moon Knight have all helped set the stage for this darker corner of the universe.

And the ending of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, with Clea and Doctor Strange both linked to the Midnight Sons, suggests Marvel’s got long-term plans for these characters.

Black Knight’s Return: A New Rival for Moon Knight?

With the Midnight Sons possibly on the way, there’s a fair chance Black Knight could return to the MCU. Kit Harington played the character in Eternals, but fans reckon he didn’t get much of a run.

In the comics, Black Knight and Moon Knight have clashed more than once. Their biggest dust-up was in Avengers: The Collection Obsession, where Black Knight’s cursed Ebony Blade went up against Moon Knight’s troubled mind.

Brad Winderbaum has said that even if a second season doesn’t happen, Moon Knight will be back in the MCU. That could open the door for a showdown with Black Knight, maybe even in the Midnight Sons film.
