Godzilla Minus Zero Stomps Into US Cinemas This November
The much-anticipated Godzilla Minus Zero, following the Oscar-winning Godzilla Minus One, lands in US theatres on 6 November 2026, just days after its Japanese debut. Director Takashi Yamazaki returns to continue the post-war saga.
There’s been a fair bit of buzz online today after word got out that Godzilla Minus Zero, the follow-up to the acclaimed Godzilla Minus One, has finally locked in a US release date. The big lizard is set to make his latest appearance in Japanese cinemas on 3 November, and punters in the States won’t have to wait long, with the film arriving there just three days later on 6 November.
Takashi Yamazaki is back at the helm for this outing, after his previous effort was widely hailed as a standout in the long-running franchise. The story picks up in the aftermath of the Second World War, centring on a Japanese pilot weighed down by shame, who finds a shot at redemption when he comes face-to-face with the fire-breathing beast. This version of the monster is, by all accounts, a proper menace.
What’s in Store for the Sequel?
Details about the plot are still under wraps, so there’s not much to go on just yet. Still, it’s a safe bet there’ll be a few toppled buildings, crowds legging it through the streets, and a handful of heroes having a crack at saving the day. And, if history’s anything to go by, the creature won’t be too chuffed by the end of it all.
Fans of the franchise have plenty to look forward to, with this new chapter promising more of the large-scale chaos and spectacle that’s made the series a favourite for generations. The anticipation is already building, and it’s shaping up to be a big year for monster flicks.
More Monster Action on the Horizon
For those who can’t get enough of city-smashing creatures, there’s even more on the way. Godzilla Minus Zero isn’t the only title on the calendar—come 26 March 2027, another instalment in the Monsterverse is set to hit screens. Godzilla x Kong: Supernova will see Dan Stevens back in action, joined by fresh faces like Kaitlyn Dever, Delroy Lindo, Jack O’Connell, and Matthew Modine. There’s even talk that SpaceGodzilla might make an appearance, though nothing’s been confirmed.
If you’re keen for more before then, the second season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is due to drop on Apple TV on 27 February 2026, offering another dose of monster mayhem for those who can’t wait for the big screen releases.
