Hayden Christensen has shared his enthusiasm for a potential Darth Vader project and confirmed his return as Anakin Skywalker in the upcoming season of Ahsoka.

Hayden Christensen, best known for stepping into the boots of Darth Vader, has made it clear he’s up for another round in the Star Wars universe. During a chat at Fan Expo Chicago, Christensen didn’t mince words about his interest in a solo project for the iconic villain.

“I would love to, yeah. So if the powers that be decide that that’s something they want to see, I’d be there in a heartbeat,”

he told the crowd, showing he’s more than ready to don the helmet again if the opportunity comes knocking.

After a long break from the galaxy far, far away, Christensen made a much-talked-about comeback, taking on both Darth Vader and, through flashbacks and visions, Anakin Skywalker in the Obi-Wan Kenobi miniseries. His return was met with plenty of excitement from fans who’d been waiting years to see him back in action.

Back in the Star Wars Spotlight

Christensen didn’t stop there. He fully embraced his role as Anakin once more, appearing opposite Ahsoka Tano in the World Between Worlds during the first season of Ahsoka. The chemistry between the two characters brought a fresh dynamic to the series, and punters were quick to notice the impact of his return.

Looking ahead, Christensen has confirmed he’ll be back for the next season. Speaking at Star Wars Celebration in Japan, he kept things under wraps but gave fans something to look forward to.

“There’s not much that I can share, but Anakin will be back for season 2.”

That’s all he was willing to spill, but it was enough to get the crowd buzzing.

Vader’s Legacy and Christensen’s Take

If he gets another shot at playing Vader, Christensen seems keen to keep the character’s menacing edge, much like what was seen in Rogue One. He’s spoken about his appreciation for how the villain was handled in that film, telling fans at Fan Expo Boston,

“I loved how they portrayed Darth Vader in that film. There are so many different people that have contributed to this character, and I’m just one of them. I loved what they did.”

Christensen’s respect for the legacy of Vader is clear, and he recognises he’s just one part of a much bigger story. Still, he’s not shy about wanting to add his own chapter, should the chance arise. For now, fans will have to wait and see if the powers that be decide to give him another go at the galaxy’s most infamous Sith Lord.
