James Gunn has revealed his annual Spotify Wrapped, but left out his most-played songs, as they all feature in his upcoming Superman film, Man of Tomorrow.

James Gunn, the filmmaker and co-head honcho at DC Studios, has given fans a peek at his latest Spotify Wrapped playlist. Every year, Spotify users get a personalised summary of their most-played tunes, artists, and genres, and Gunn is no exception. This time, though, he’s held back his actual top tracks, saying they’re all set to appear in his next Superman flick, Man of Tomorrow.

On social media, Gunn explained,

I can't post my top songs because they are ALL in Man of Tomorrow, but I can post some of the other stuff

before listing his favourite artists for the year:

1) Foxy Shazam (two years running). 2) Sports Team, 3) Jeff Rosenstock, and 4) LaRussel.

It’s no secret that Gunn’s taste in music has shaped his films, with his soundtracks for Guardians of the Galaxy becoming instant classics among punters.

Soundtrack Choices and Musical Influence

Gunn’s knack for picking memorable tracks is well-known, and it looks like he’s keeping that tradition alive for his Superman project. The upcoming film will feature a handful of standout songs, including ‘Punkrocker’ by Teddybears and Iggy Pop. Most of the score, though, comes courtesy of John Murphy and David Fleming, with a nod to the iconic themes crafted by John Williams.

There’s a good chance Gunn’s keeping the rest of his playlist under wraps to avoid giving away any hints about the film’s storyline. He’s always been one to use music to set the mood or drop a subtle clue, so it’s no surprise he’s playing his cards close to his chest this time around.

Anticipation for Man of Tomorrow

Man of Tomorrow is locked in for a 9 July 2027 release. With Gunn at the helm, fans are keen to see how his musical choices will shape the next chapter in the Superman saga. The film promises a mix of fresh tracks and classic scores, and locals are already speculating about what surprises might be in store.

For now, Gunn’s keeping the best bits to himself, but he’s encouraged everyone to keep an eye out for more news on upcoming DC films and series. There’s plenty in the pipeline, and punters are eager to see what’s next.
