Kevin Spacey faces new legal troubles as fresh assault claims emerge, putting his hopes for a return to the big screen on hold. The actor is due in court in 2026, with his future in the industry hanging in the balance.

Kevin Spacey’s ambitions to step back into the spotlight have hit another snag, with the actor now facing a new round of sexual assault accusations. Recently, Spacey spoke about his ongoing struggle to re-establish himself in the industry, describing his current situation as “homeless” because he’s constantly on the move, picking up whatever small roles he can find.

Past Accusations and Industry Fallout

Back in 2017, Spacey’s career took a nosedive after fellow actor Anthony Rapp accused him of sexual assault and battery. That opened the floodgates, with more than a dozen others coming forward with similar stories. The fallout was swift—Spacey was dropped from major projects, including Ridley Scott’s All the Money in the World, which reshot his scenes with Christopher Plummer, and he was sacked from the final season of House of Cards. Despite the storm, none of the legal cases so far have ended in a conviction. Most fizzled out due to technicalities like the statute of limitations, witnesses refusing to testify, or, in one case, the death of an accuser. His most recent court appearance in Britain in 2023 saw him cleared of nine charges, with the remaining three dropped.

Upcoming Court Battle

Now, reports indicate Spacey is set to return to court in October 2026, facing civil claims from three British men. They allege the actor assaulted them between 2000 and 2013. The cases might be heard together or separately. Spacey has denied two of the claims, while he hasn’t commented on the third. Two of the men have previously been involved in criminal proceedings against him.

While two of the accusers have chosen to remain anonymous, the third has been named as Ruari Cannon. Cannon, an actor, alleges Spacey groped him at an after party during his time at the Old Vic. Cannon spoke out in the documentary Spacey Unmasked, which also featured nine others who claimed to have experienced similar behaviour from the Oscar winner.

Uncertain Future in the Industry

Spacey has made it clear in recent interviews that he’s not ready to give up on his career. He’s keen to find his way back into the industry, but with these new legal battles looming, any hopes of a major return seem further away than ever.

“I am constantly moving where I can find small roles,”

he said, highlighting the uncertainty of his current situation. If the upcoming court case ends in his favour, he may once again try to convince studios to give him another shot, but for now, his future remains up in the air.
