Mark Ruffalo has finally addressed whether the Hulk will appear in Avengers: Doomsday, sharing his thoughts on the future and reflecting on his notorious Marvel spoilers.

Mark Ruffalo has put to rest the swirling rumours about his involvement in the much-hyped Avengers: Doomsday, confirming he won’t be suiting up as the Hulk for Marvel’s next big ensemble. The film, slated for a late 2026 release, is shaping up as the studio’s boldest project since Endgame, with a line-up of familiar faces ready to take on a new threat: Robert Downey Jr. stepping into the shoes of Victor von Doom. With the likes of the Fantastic Four, X-Men, Thor, Shang-Chi, Ant-Man, Black Panther, and Captain America all in the mix, fans are left wondering if the team can pull it off without their green powerhouse.

In a recent chat with Empire Magazine, Ruffalo made it clear he won’t be joining the action this time around. Still, he’s upbeat about his ongoing relationship with the Marvel universe.

“As long as they keep finding cool things to do with Hulk. It's given me so many gifts. You know, I probably wouldn't be in Crime 101 if it wasn't for The Avengers,”

he shared. His comments have sparked fresh speculation about whether the Hulk might pop up elsewhere, especially with talk swirling about a possible appearance in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Some punters are even questioning if the character could be in a spot of bother.

Missing from the Line-Up

Ruffalo’s absence from last year’s star-studded Doomsday cast announcement didn’t go unnoticed. The promo, which panned across a sea of chairs labelled with the names of returning heroes, left fans scratching their heads about the missing Avenger. When Jimmy Fallon pressed him on the subject, Ruffalo couldn’t resist taking the mickey out of himself:

“They decided that it was better to get rid of me than for me to tell the end of the next movie.”

It’s a fair dig, considering Ruffalo’s reputation for letting spoilers slip. Over the years, he’s become infamous for dropping major plot points before release, much to the amusement (and sometimes frustration) of his co-stars and Marvel bosses alike.

Ruffalo’s Spoiler Blunders

Ruffalo’s knack for revealing too much has become something of a running joke. Back before Infinity War hit cinemas, he managed to let slip the devastating twist about Thanos wiping out half the universe. He tried to walk it back, but the damage was done, and his mate Don Cheadle even refused to do press with him for a while after that.

He’s also been caught out revealing Steve Rogers’ fate in Endgame, blurting out,

“He gets married in this!”

during an interview. But perhaps his most memorable gaffe came at the Thor: Ragnarok premiere, when he accidentally live-streamed the first 20 minutes of the film. Ruffalo, keen to share the red carpet buzz with his Facebook followers, forgot to end the stream before slipping his phone into his pocket, leaving fans listening in until he finally twigged.

Turning Gaffes into Gold

Reflecting on his viral mishap during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Ruffalo revealed that Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige eventually saw the funny side. The unexpected leak ended up generating heaps of publicity for the film, proving that sometimes even a blunder can work in your favour.
