Mia Goth shares her excitement about working on Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, describing it as a profound experience. The film features Matt Damon as Odysseus and a star-studded cast.

Mia Goth has opened up about her time filming The Odyssey, Christopher Nolan’s much-anticipated take on the Ancient Greek classic. For Goth, the experience was nothing short of extraordinary.

“That was one of the greatest experiences of my life. It really was. It was profound,”

she shared.

“I’ve been such a fan of Nolan's work for years. And so to have that opportunity and to witness him and how he directs was incredible. I took a lot from that. The trust that he has in actors was enlightening.”

The Odyssey follows the legendary journey of Odysseus, King of Ithaca, as he spends a decade trying to make his way home after the Trojan War, facing all sorts of hurdles thrown at him by the gods. Matt Damon steps into the role of Odysseus, with Tom Holland playing his son Telemachus and Anne Hathaway as his wife Penelope. The cast is packed with big names, including Robert Pattinson, Jon Bernthal, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong'o, and Charlize Theron.

On Set with Nolan: A Unique Experience

Goth takes on the part of Melantho, Penelope’s favourite maid. While Odysseus is off battling and trying to get back home, Penelope is left on Ithaca, holding the fort and dealing with a parade of hopeful suitors. Goth’s role puts her right in the thick of the palace intrigue, giving her a front-row seat to the drama unfolding in Odysseus’ absence.

She’s not the only one singing the film’s praises. Matt Damon, who leads the cast, has also spoken about how special the project was for him.

“I can say, without hyperbole, that it was the best experience of my career,”

Damon said last year.

“I saw the [Trojan] horse on the beach and I was just like, 'Fuck.' It was just so cool.”

Star-Studded Cast and Epic Storytelling

The ensemble brings together a mix of established stars and rising talent, all under Nolan’s direction. The film promises to deliver a fresh take on the ancient tale, with plenty of action, emotion, and spectacle. The production itself has been described as massive, with elaborate sets and attention to detail that’s become a Nolan trademark.

With the release date set for 17 July, punters are keen to see how this new adaptation will stack up against previous versions. The buzz around the cast and the director’s reputation for ambitious storytelling have only added to the anticipation.

While fans wait for The Odyssey to hit cinemas, there’s no shortage of other big releases on the horizon this year. But for those involved, it’s clear this project stands out as something truly memorable.
