My Hero Academia Returns in 2026 With Special Episode and Concert Tour
A new My Hero Academia episode lands in 2026, wrapping up the manga adaptation, while a global concert tour marks the anime’s 10th birthday. The special will stream on Crunchyroll outside Asia.
Fans of My Hero Academia have something big to look forward to, with a fresh episode set to air in 2026. This new instalment will round off the adaptation of Kohei Horikoshi’s much-loved manga, giving punters one last look at Deku and his mates after the curtain falls on season 8. The episode, titled ‘More’, picks up eight years after the final season’s events, following the crew as they move on from their days at U.A. High. It’s based on Chapter 431 of the manga and is scheduled for release on 2 May, lining up with the anime’s 10th anniversary. Outside Asia, the episode will be available exclusively on Crunchyroll.
Season 8’s last episode already gave fans a taste of what’s next, but this special promises to dig even deeper into the futures of Bakugo, Todoroki, Uraraka and the rest. After eight seasons and 170 episodes, this will be the final send-off for a series that’s become a staple for superhero anime lovers over the past decade.
Anniversary Celebrations and Concert Tour
To mark the milestone, organisers have announced a worldwide concert tour, My Hero Academia in Concert. The tour will feature Yuki Hayashi’s music performed live alongside scenes from the anime. Kicking off at Pacifico Yokohama on 30 May 2026, the tour will then head overseas, giving fans across the globe a chance to join in the celebrations. A spokesperson from Toho summed up the mood after the announcement at Jump Festa 2026, saying,
‘We are incredibly proud to celebrate ten years of ‘My Hero Academia’ with fans around the world. This milestone represents not only a decade of unforgettable stories, heroic characters, and epic battles, but also the incredible support and passion of our global audience.’
Franchise Keeps Kicking On
Even though the main series has wrapped up, the world of My Hero Academia isn’t going anywhere. Earlier this year, the spin-off and prequel, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, made its debut, keeping the universe alive for keen fans. There’s also a live-action adaptation in the works at Netflix, with the manga’s creator heavily involved in the project. So, while the original story might be finished, there’s still plenty for locals to get stuck into.
