Pedro Pascal’s Hilarious On-Stage Struggles With Marvel Mate
Pedro Pascal tops Google’s 2025 search charts, but his most memorable moments might be backstage. Discover which Marvel star he cheekily called a “nightmare” to work with—and why their friendship still has fans talking.
Pedro Pascal has had a blinder of a year, nabbing the top spot as the most searched actor in the country, according to Google’s Year in Search 2025. With a string of high-profile roles under his belt lately, it’s no surprise punters have been keen to know what he’s up to next.
Over the years, Pascal’s been involved in heaps of projects, but one story from his early days in theatre still gets a laugh. During a chat with the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, he recalled sharing the stage with Oscar Isaac—now known for his stint as Moon Knight—back in 2004’s ‘Beauty of the Father’.
Taking the Mickey On Stage
Pascal described how Isaac played the ghost of Federico Garcia Lorca, a character only visible to the lead. The rest of the cast had to act as if Isaac wasn’t there, but he made it tough to stay in character. Pascal said:
He played a ghost. He was the ghost of Federico Garcia Lorca, and no one but the main character could see Lorca, and the rest of us couldn’t see Lorca, but Oscar’s on stage, and he knows that we can’t see him, so he would come into your periphery while you were doing text, and just get you to laugh. It was a nightmare. It was a nightmare. You’re just doing this super serious scene, and then you start to feel his face just coming up and all right over here.
Trying to keep a straight face while Isaac was taking the mickey was no easy feat. Pascal managing to get through his lines without cracking up is probably why he’s gone on to such big things.
Bromance That’s Lasted the Distance
Their time in theatre was just the start of a long-running friendship. In 2019, the pair teamed up again for the action flick ‘Triple Frontier’. By then, both were already big names, and fans couldn’t help but compare the two.
Instead of shying away from the attention, they leaned into their so-called bromance, often sharing light-hearted moments on social media. Pascal once posted a snap of the two having a cuddle, a rare sight for blokes in the industry.
In a 2022 interview, Isaac joked about Pascal’s devotion, saying:
He’s obsessed with me. I try to get away from him, he finds me. Even when I change my number… it’s like a disease.
Both actors have not only made waves with their performances but have also challenged old-school ideas about masculinity in the business.
Pascal’s Run of Big Roles Continues
This year, Pascal’s been busy with three films—‘Eddington’, ‘Materialists’, and ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’—plus the second season of ‘The Last of Us’. He actually had more films out last year, but his popularity hasn’t dipped one bit.
Looking ahead, he’s set to appear in two of the industry’s biggest franchises: ‘The Mandalorian and Grogu’ and ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, both slated for 2026. Wouldn’t be a shock if he tops the search charts again next year.
Here’s a quick look at what’s coming up for Pascal:
