Sadie Sink Discovers Spider-Man 4 Role Through Online Buzz
Sadie Sink says she first heard about her casting in Spider-Man: Brand New Day from internet chatter, before Marvel Studios made it official. Fans are still guessing who she’ll play in the film.
Sadie Sink is set to join the cast of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the fourth instalment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man series. In a twist that’s very much of the times, the Stranger Things star found out about her involvement not from a studio call, but from the internet rumour mill. She shared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon that she stumbled across the news online a full two days before Marvel Studios reached out to her directly.
‘I found out through online theories,’
she said, adding that she saw the speculation and thought,
‘I am?'
Only after that did the official offer land in her lap.
‘So yeah, those theories, there’s sometimes some truth to it!’
Exactly who Sink will be playing in the upcoming film is still under wraps, and that’s only fuelled more speculation among fans. Theories are flying about which character she might bring to life, with some punters tipping her as a new take on Mary Jane Watson, others suggesting she could be Rachel Cole (a character linked to the Punisher), and a few even floating the idea of her as Jean Grey from the X-Men universe.
Speculation Swirls Around Sink’s Secret Role
Sink herself admits the guessing game has been a bit of a headache.
‘It’s torture! There’s so much speculation,’
she said, noting that every week seems to bring a new rumour about her character. She’s managed to keep the details close to her chest, only sharing what she knows with a tight circle of family and mates. Marvel, for their part, will be pleased that nothing’s slipped out so far.
Among the many theories, some reckon Rachel Cole is the most likely pick, especially since Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle is set to appear in the film. Leaked set photos showing Sink in camouflage gear have only added fuel to that particular fire, though nothing’s been confirmed.
Fans Eager for Answers Ahead of Release
With Spider-Man: Brand New Day scheduled to hit cinemas on 31 July, fans are left to pore over every scrap of information and leaked image, hoping for clues about Sink’s character. The anticipation is only building as Marvel keeps details tightly under wraps. In the meantime, there’s plenty for locals to look forward to, with a packed slate of Marvel films and series on the horizon.
