Sebastian Stan Tipped for Two-Face in The Batman Sequel
Rumours swirl as Sebastian Stan is linked to the role of Harvey Dent in The Batman - Part II, with a stylist’s social media post fuelling speculation. Filming is set for 2026, with release planned for October 2027.
Talk is heating up around Sebastian Stan possibly swapping his Marvel suit for a spot in Gotham, as whispers grow louder about him joining the cast of The Batman - Part II. The rumour mill kicked into overdrive after word got out on 6 January 2026 that Stan was in discussions to join Matt Reeves’ much-anticipated sequel. While the studio and director are keeping their cards close to their chest, some reckon Stan is in line to play Harvey Dent, better known to punters as Two-Face.
Fans have been busy piecing together clues, but the real stir came when Stan’s stylist, Michael Fisher, might have let the cat out of the bag. Fisher posted an Instagram story featuring fan art of Stan as Two-Face, which quickly did the rounds online. Not long after, another image popped up showing Stan in full Two-Face get-up, also courtesy of Fisher. Both posts vanished from his account soon after, but not before sparking a fresh wave of speculation. So far, there’s been no word from Warner Bros., Matt Reeves, or Stan’s camp.
Social Media Slip-Up or Just a Bit of Fun?
It’s worth noting that Fisher’s posts don’t amount to an official confirmation. He could just be having a laugh with the rumour that’s been doing the rounds since Stan’s name was first linked to the project. Still, the idea of Stan stepping into the shoes of Gotham’s next district attorney isn’t far-fetched. After all, The Riddler knocked off the previous DA, Gil Coulson, in the last film, leaving the position wide open.
If Stan does end up playing Harvey Dent, he’ll be the fourth bloke to take on the role in a live-action film. Billy Dee Williams had a crack at it in Batman, before Tommy Lee Jones took over as Two-Face in Batman Forever. Aaron Eckhart’s turn in The Dark Knight is still fresh in many minds, and more recently, Harry Lawtey appeared as a pre-scarred Dent in Joker: Folie à Deux, with the film hinting at his transformation.
What’s Next for Gotham’s DA?
Stan’s possible casting as Harvey Dent has also set tongues wagging about Scarlett Johansson potentially playing Gilda Dent, Harvey’s wife. Gilda’s a key figure in the comic Batman: The Long Halloween, which has inspired a few Batman films over the years, including Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and the latest reboot. Nothing’s set in stone yet, but the rumour’s got fans keen to see how things play out.
With filming for The Batman - Part II expected to kick off in spring 2026 and a cinema release slated for October 2027, it won’t be long before more details start to trickle out. For now, everyone’s left guessing whether Stan will be flipping a coin as Gotham’s most conflicted DA.
