Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4 Promises Next-Level Action
Tom Holland’s next Spider-Man outing is shaping up to be a wild ride, with practical stunts, a darker tone, and some big changes for Peter Parker. Here’s what’s brewing for the much-hyped fourth film.
Tom Holland’s turn in Spider-Man: Brand New Day has everyone buzzing, with the fourth instalment in the MCU’s Spidey saga set to shake things up. Word from insider Alex Perez suggests the action scenes are getting a serious upgrade, with practical stunts that could rival Jackie Chan’s best work—only this time, in a Spidey suit.
Stunt Work and Fight Scenes Get a Major Boost
According to Perez, the stunt team have really outdone themselves for this one. The fight choreography is said to be slick and inventive, with a level of physicality not seen in previous outings. In his words:
There is a lot of practicality being done for this film, especially in the fight sequences. I have to give my props to the stunt coordinators because, holy crap, these might just be some of the most awesome movements I’ve seen from Spider-Man in a long time.
He went on to add:
This is a Spider-Man who has honed in on his fighting, his abilities, and his Spider-Sense. It’s like they put Jackie Chan himself in the da*n suit.
With that sort of praise, punters can expect a fresh take on Spidey’s action scenes, with Holland’s character showing off some seriously sharp moves.
Peter Parker’s World Turned Upside Down
The last film, No Way Home, wrapped up with Doctor Strange casting a spell that wiped Peter Parker from everyone’s memory—including his closest mates, MJ and Ned. This left Peter completely on his own, with no one remembering who he is or what he’s done.
But there’s a twist on the horizon. Perez reckons the MCU’s upcoming soft reboot could undo that spell. He explained:
With the universe being destroyed and reset, the spell will ultimately be broken. The memory spell was mainly a way to keep the universes at bay.
So, while Peter’s still flying solo for now, there’s hope he might reconnect with his old friends down the track. Until then, he’s left to navigate things on his own, which could make for a much grittier story.
The Darkest Chapter Yet for Spider-Man
Adding to the tension, Jon Bernthal is set to join the cast as the Punisher. Frank Castle isn’t exactly known for his sense of humour, and his presence is bound to bring a tougher edge to the story. Even Marvel boss Kevin Feige has hinted that the Punisher will push Peter to become a ‘proper Spider-Man’.
With no one left in his corner, Peter’s facing a rough road ahead. The trauma and isolation are likely to force him to grow up fast, and this chapter could end up being the most intense in the series so far.
Here’s a quick rundown of what’s in store:
