‘Unlike Anything You’ve Seen’: Matt Damon hypes his next movie with the Daniels
Matt Damon has confirmed his next project will be a collaboration with Everything Everywhere All at Once directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert.
While promoting Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, Matt Damon said on the Happy Sad Confused podcast that his next movie will be directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert. He confirmed the long-rumored team-up with the “Daniels,” noting the project is in development but keeping specifics under wraps.
“I'm really excited to work with them.”
“It's exactly what you'd hope. And it's not like anything you've seen.”
Damon added that he signed on as much for who the Daniels are as what they make, praising the duo’s outlook and the kinds of stories they want to put into the world. Everything Everywhere All at Once made them breakout names, winning multiple Oscars including Best Picture and Best Director.
The confirmation arrives as Damon rides strong notices for The Odyssey, which opened in theaters July 17. Early awards chatter around the film has highlighted the ensemble’s performances, with Anne Hathaway drawing particular attention for her turn as Penelope and Damon also earning mentions.
No title, plot details, additional casting or start date have been announced for the Daniels’ movie; it remains in active development.
