A quarter-century after Harry Potter’s big screen debut, fans can look forward to special cinema events, exclusive behind-the-scenes moments, and themed experiences rolling out worldwide through 2026.

In 2026, the world will mark 25 years since the bespectacled wizard first cast a spell on cinema-goers. The original film, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, quickly became a cultural juggernaut, kicking off a fantasy series that’s still going strong. Now, with a much-talked-about TV reboot in the works, Warner Bros. Discovery is pulling out all the stops for a year-long celebration dubbed “25 Years of Magic.”

From late August to early September, punters will have the chance to catch the film on the big screen once again. The screenings, running from 27 August to 3 September, will take place in cinemas across the globe. This time, there’s a twist: each session will include ten minutes of never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage. Some locations are set to offer extra surprises, so fans might get more than just a trip down memory lane. In 2026, the film will also be shown at Cosm venues, with tickets for these immersive sessions going on sale from 4 March. Los Angeles and Dallas are already on the list, and new venues in Atlanta and Detroit are set to join in, giving even more fans a chance to relive the magic.

Beyond the Silver Screen: Pop-Ups and Birthday Bashes

The festivities aren’t stopping at cinema doors. Warner Bros. Discovery is taking the celebration to the streets, with butterbeer trucks set to roll into major cities worldwide. These pop-ups, launching in March and running through May, will serve up the iconic drink along with a range of themed merchandise. It’s not just about the nostalgia – there’ll be plenty of new goodies for collectors and casual fans alike.

There’s another milestone on the cards, too. The studio plans to officially mark the character’s birthday, as set out in the books: 31 July. This year, that date will see a special birthday event, complete with access to exclusive merchandise. It’s a nod to the fans who’ve kept the magic alive for a quarter of a century.

Merchandise, Retail Events and Global Access

Before the annual Back to Hogwarts day on 1 September, fans will be able to get their hands on exclusive products and take part in themed events at official retail outlets. Physical Harry Potter Stores in Tokyo, London, and the US will be at the centre of the action, but online shops will make sure no one misses out, no matter where they are.

Big-name brands are joining the party, too. The LEGO Group, Spin Master, Crocs, Jazzwares, Alex and Ani, Hallmark, and Vera Bradley are all on board for the “25 Years of Magic” campaign. Whether you’re after a new wand, a quirky pair of shoes, or a collectable to mark the occasion, there’ll be something for every type of fan.
