Alfie Williams, fresh from 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, has shared his hopes of playing Isaac Clarke in a Dead Space film, revealing his passion for the game and dream casting.

Alfie Williams, who’s about to hit the big screen in 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, is already looking ahead to what might come next. The young actor, recently named best newcomer of 2025 by GamesRadar+, has been spending his downtime with a controller in hand, getting stuck into Dead Space. Turns out, he’s pretty keen on the idea of bringing the game’s main character, Isaac Clarke, to life in a film adaptation.

In a chat with IGN, Williams admitted he’s been revisiting some old favourites.

“I’ve been sticking to the classics,”

he said, after the interviewer joked about rallying the IGN crowd to help make his dream a reality.

Dreaming of Isaac Clarke and Beyond

Williams, just 15, also spoke to Wonderland magazine about his ambitions. He reckons if a live-action version of Dead Space ever gets the green light, he’d love to step into Isaac Clarke’s boots.

“But I would have to wait a while, since the character is like 40 years old!”

he pointed out, not taking himself too seriously. He also mentioned he’d be chuffed to land a role in a Western one day, with Young Guns topping his list.

“My favourite Western is Young Guns and I would love to play Billy the Kid if they ever made a remake of that film.”

Dead Space: A Cult Classic

Dead Space, first released in 2008 and remade in 2023, follows engineer Isaac Clarke as he investigates the USG Ishimura, a mining ship that’s gone silent after a mysterious incident. The story kicks off when Isaac receives a message from his partner Nicole, prompting him to board the vessel. Rumours swirl about a virus and a strange alien artefact found on Aegis VII, the planet below. As Isaac digs deeper, he uncovers a web of secrets, including a shadowy cult and a heap of political intrigue, all while fending off Necromorphs – the reanimated remains of the ship’s crew.

What’s Next for Williams?

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is set to hit US cinemas on 16 January, while punters in the UK can already catch it. Williams’ enthusiasm for Dead Space and Westerns shows he’s got his sights set on a range of roles, and he’s not shy about sharing his dream gigs. For those keen on what’s coming up, there’s a whole line-up of video game films on the horizon, so it might not be long before Williams gets his shot at Isaac Clarke – or even Billy the Kid.
