Assassin’s Creed Netflix Series Adds Aussie Star from Game of Thrones Spin-Off
Aussie actress Tanzyn Crawford joins Netflix’s live-action Assassin’s Creed series, fresh off her role in the Game of Thrones spin-off, A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms. Find out who else is on board and what’s next.
The line-up for Netflix’s live-action take on Assassin’s Creed is slowly coming together, and there’s a new face in the mix. Tanzyn Crawford, an Australian performer, has signed on as a regular for the much-anticipated series. She’s also set to appear in the upcoming Game of Thrones offshoot, A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms, so it’s a busy time for her.
Word is, Crawford will be a series regular in the Assassin’s Creed adaptation, which is based on Ubisoft’s long-running franchise known for its secretive assassins and, let’s be honest, a fair bit of haystack diving. She’ll be joining a cast that already includes Toby Wallace, Lola Petticrew, Zachary Hart, and Laura Marcus. At this stage, the details about who’s playing what are being kept under wraps. If you’re picturing a couple of blokes in hoods keeping an eye on things, you’re probably not far off.
Filming Plans and Setting
Production is being lined up for 2026, with Italy chosen as the main filming location. That’s sure to get fans of Ezio Auditore and the Italian chapters of the game series a bit keen. Still, there’s no word yet on which era the show will focus on, or which assassin will be front and centre. The production team is keeping those cards close to their chest for now.
With so much secrecy, it’s anyone’s guess which part of the Assassin’s Creed universe will be brought to life. The franchise has covered everything from the Crusades to Victorian London, so there’s plenty of ground to cover. For now, punters will have to wait and see what the creative team has in store.
Crawford’s Role in A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms
Before she steps into the world of hidden blades, Crawford will be seen wandering Westeros in A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms. The new series is set to premiere on 18 January on HBO Max. It follows Peter Claffey as Ser Duncan the Tall, known as “Dunk,” and Dexter Sol Ansell as his squire, Aegon Targaryen, or “Egg.”
Crawford takes on the role of Tanselle, a travelling puppeteer who crosses paths with Dunk and Egg during their adventures. Her character is set to add a fresh dynamic to the journey, which promises plenty of swordplay and the odd bit of mischief along the way.
What’s Next for Game of Thrones Fans?
If you’re wondering what other tales from the Game of Thrones universe are on the horizon, there’s a full list of upcoming projects to keep an eye on. With Crawford’s involvement in both the Assassin’s Creed series and the new Thrones spin-off, she’s definitely one to watch in the coming years.
