Lara Croft’s latest voice actor, Alix Wilton Regan, has thrown her support behind Sophie Turner’s upcoming portrayal in the Amazon Prime Video series, sparking excitement among fans.

2026 is shaping up to be a massive year for fans of the iconic adventurer. Not only is Lara Croft set to return in the much-anticipated Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, but she’s also making her way to the small screen in a fresh Amazon Prime Video series. Sophie Turner, best known for her stint on Game of Thrones, has stepped into the boots, sunglasses, and shorts of the legendary character, and early glimpses suggest she’s nailed the look.

While punters have been quick to weigh in on Turner’s transformation, one of the first to give a nod of approval was none other than Alix Wilton Regan. She’s the new voice behind Lara in both Legacy of Atlantis and the upcoming Tomb Raider: Catalyst, due out in 2027. Taking to Instagram, Regan didn’t hold back her enthusiasm for Turner’s take, writing,

“Lara looking mighty fine / fire / fierce these days,”

and adding,

“@sophieturner - I AM HERE FOR IT.”

Mutual Respect Among Crofts

It’s not every day you see two actors who’ve taken on such a legendary role publicly backing each other. Regan’s praise for Turner’s version of the character has been met with plenty of excitement from the community. The big question now is whether Turner can do justice to the role and bring something new to the table, all while keeping the spirit of the original alive.

Of course, Turner won’t be carrying the show on her own. The cast is stacked with familiar faces, promising a dynamic take on the Tomb Raider universe. Jason Isaacs is set to play Atlas DeMornay, Lara’s uncle, while Bill Paterson steps in as Winston, the Croft family’s long-suffering butler (who, as fans know, should probably steer clear of any walk-in freezers). Martin Bobb-Semple joins as Zip, Lara’s tech-savvy mate.

New Faces and Fresh Twists

Adding to the intrigue, Sigourney Weaver, known for her role in Avatar, will appear as Evelyn Wallis—a brand new character for the franchise. Wallis is set to cross paths with Lara, and from the sounds of it, she’s got her own agenda. There’s a fair bit of suspicion around her motives, and it’s anyone’s guess how she’ll fit into the story.

The supporting cast is rounded out by Jack Bannon, John Heffernan, Celia Imrie, Patterson Joseph, Sasha Luss, August Wittgenstein, and Juliette Motamed. With such a line-up, the series is shaping up to be a real ensemble effort, bringing together a mix of old hands and fresh talent.

Anticipation Builds for the Series

Despite all the buzz, there’s still no word on when the show will actually hit screens. Fans are left waiting for an official release date, but the excitement is already building. With both a new game and a new series on the horizon, it’s a good time to be a Tomb Raider fan. Whether you’re keen on the classic adventures or looking forward to seeing what Turner and the rest of the cast bring to the table, there’s plenty to look forward to in the coming months.
